It was only a matter of time before a major network cashed in on the poker craze. Full Tilt and NBC are jumping in with both feet with the new show, Face the Ace. The premise looks very entertaining and having a former Soprano star hosting it should get the ratings a quick boost.

Full Tilt will be running nonstop satellites to their entry tournaments where players will compete for the right for a spot on the show. If you have happened by the poker room lately, these freerolls fill up just about as quick as they are announced. If you choose not to play poker bingo, you can buy your way into one of the other tournaments with poker points and avoid the hundreds of people that are vying for one spot in the SNG tourneys.

The show is going to hit the air waves on August 1st at 9:00pm. Each player will have the opportunity to pick a door and then player the professional who is standing behind it. They can quit after each level or they can proceed and try to take down 3 pros in a row for the grand prize of $1,000,000! With the cast of professionals that Full Tilt can put out there, you would have to imagine the $1,000,000 is going to be pretty safe. Imagine facing off against the likes of Phil Ivey, Jennifer Harman and Chris Ferguson in three straight matches.

You would have to think that most of these players are going to try and run the gauntlet just to say that they did it. Being gamblers by nature that million dollar pot is going to be awfully hard to resist. Poker shows have been getting a little stale lately and the new format should put some life back into the TV craze of poker. We only have a few months to see what happens and only a few more weeks to win a spot on the first shows. Get over to Full Tilt and see if you can take down a piece of that $1,000,000!
